Is SpicyChat Free?

What's actually free on SpicyChat

You can use SpicyChat completely free, with unlimited messages and the ability to create as many chatbots as you like. This lets you try out text roleplay with a wide range of community-made AIs, experiment with group chats, and use the basic context memory features. However, the free plan comes with ads and you might encounter waiting queues during busy times. Features like conversation images, a Memory Manager, longer context, and more advanced AI models are only available on paid tiers. So, the core chatting and bot creation are open to everyone, but premium features require a subscription.

Limits to expect

On the free plan, you'll get unlimited messages, which is rare among AI companion platforms. However, there are some trade-offs: ads will appear, and at peak times, you might need to wait in a queue before your messages go through. Reply length is limited compared to paid plans, and you won't have access to advanced memory options or conversation images. If you want longer, more detailed replies or priority access, that's where paid plans come in.

Free trial and starter bonus

SpicyChat’s free plan lets you explore the platform without entering payment details. There isn’t a separate free trial period or a bonus balance, but you can take your time getting a feel for the features available at no cost. To make the most of your free access, try out different community chatbots, experiment with group chats, and see how the platform handles your favourite scenarios before considering any upgrade.

Upgrade or stay free?

Do you chat a lot or want richer features?
If you want ad-free chatting, longer replies, or access to conversation images, upgrading to a paid tier is worth a look.

Are queues and ads a dealbreaker for you?
Paid plans remove ads and let you skip queues, making the experience smoother if you use the app regularly.

Is basic roleplay enough?
If you’re happy with unlimited messages and basic features, the free plan is generous and might suit you just fine.

How renewal works

When you subscribe to a paid SpicyChat tier, your plan renews automatically unless you’ve chosen a method like Boosty or crypto, which don’t auto-renew. If you want to keep a discounted or older price, just keep your subscription active and unchanged—otherwise, new rates will apply if you resubscribe later. Cancelling is straightforward, and you can request a refund through the official support channel if needed.
